General Program Outline
Day 1 - Arrival and check-in. You will be welcomed at the airport and transferred by van to the farm, a haven of peace surrounded by greenery and away from the hustle and bustle of the city. In summer, the swimming pool is available to guests. Welcome drink on arrival and dinner with typical cuisine, simple but rich in flavors. You can get to know each other and get a first idea of the experience you will embark on.

Day 2 - After a good breakfast there will be a short briefing, during which we will give our guests some information about horses and the training method we adopt: based on natural horsemanship. We will also give some tips to riders to help them build a good relationship with their horses.

Through the forest we will reach Capizzi, a small village where we will stop for a short break to admire the view of Mount Etna and put our packed lunch in our saddlebags. With the village of Capizzi, we will leave civilisation behind, immersing ourselves in the wild nature of the Nebrodi forests. Crossing the valley of the 'Ancipa' artificial lake, we will begin to climb in altitude.

After lunch there will be more opportunities to gallop, as the route will become wider and more comfortable as soon as we reach the 'Dorsale', an ancient road that crosses all the Nebrodi mountains.

We will then arrive at our second accommodation: an old Forest Guard building converted into a Relais, considered an incredible oasis of comfort in the middle of nowhere. Here the key words are relaxation, luxury and good food.

There will be time to relax and have a drink with friends, then dinner will be served. The young chef will amaze us with his dishes: a special combination of gourmet cuisine and the ancient traditions of Sicilian cooking.

Day 3 - This is the 'day of lakes', because on our way we will encounter four of the five lakes on the Nebrodi: Maulazzo, Bievere, Cartolari, Trearie. Breathtaking views of both the Tyrrhenian Sea and Etna, and wild nature will accompany us throughout the day. The morning will pass between short breaks to admire the breathtaking views, long gallops, and paths winding through enchanted forests. We will then stop to rest and eat.
After lunch, the group will start to descend along the slopes of the Nebrodi towards Mount Etna. The descent will take us through several woods until we reach a farm in the Flascio river valley. Here we will leave the horses for the night.
We will then reach the hotel by a short transfer. Dinner will be served at the hotel restaurant.

Day 4 - After breakfast we will take the minibus to the place where we left the horses the night before, ready to face the last day: the ascent of Mount Etna.
Passing through the "Lago Gurrida" nature reserve and the long road around the volcano, we will reach Etna Park. Here we will leave the road for a large path through forests and ancient lava flows.

The group will be able to enjoy long, fast rides on those big, comfortable roots.
We will stop for lunch near an ancient refuge, which is always open and where the only water point in the area is located.

Today too we will have a packed lunch, as vehicles are not allowed in this area.
In the afternoon, the trail takes us to the large crater of the 2002 eruption at about 2000 metres above sea level.

Here we will be able to admire a breathtaking panorama over much of the island, the sea and Calabria (the closest part of Italy).
Then we will walk down the slopes of the crater to Piano Provenzana, where the truck will be waiting for us to take the horses home. As soon as we leave, we will descend to our accommodation in the mountains, about 10 minutes' drive away.

Once here, we will have some time to spend together to say goodbye before having dinner and resting for the last night.

Day 5 - The transfer will be planned according to the times of the first departure.

Travel Tips

Clothing: it should be comfortable and above all not brand new (especially footwear) as new clothes may often hold unpleasant surprises. Please wear comfortable shoes, even for walking, but with rigid soles to allow a good contact of the foot with the stirrup. Avoid boots with smooth soles and too tight clothes. Pants should be comfortable and hard-wearing. Remember to bring a raincoat, a hat for the sun and a bathing suit with you. It is also important to keep in mind that even in the hottest periods, a sweater may be necessary for the evening. The luggage should not be bulky because the space on the van is limited, so avoid hard suitcases.

Pharmacy Kit: Your horse guides carry commonly used medicines and a first aid kit. Any health problems that require special medications must be reported before departure. Allergy sufferers must bring their usual medications, as well as travelers who are allergic to commonly used medications.
